Ok, so, my dad and I are major Star Trek nerds. I’ve spent some time reading people’s arguments about Benedict Cumberbatch playing Khan in the new movie, and to be quite honest I’m upset.

While sitting here, I asked my dad (just to be sure I was correct) if Khan’s race was a major issue in the original film, simply because it had been awhile since I watched it.

He said no. The issue with Khan was his genetic enhancement, not his race.

So, people getting upset over this whole race thing? Really?

Unless a character’s race has a direct influence on their character development in the story, does it really matter?

I mean, there are people getting seriously butthurt about this. I just don’t get it. If an actor does well in the role, great. If not, don’t blame it on their race. Please, show some maturity here.

If not, think of it this way.

It’s over and done with, one of the biggest movies of the summer.
